An investigation is ongoing after a weekend shooting in Midfield left one person injured.

The shooting happened shortly before 2 a.m. Sunday in the 900 block of Ninth Street, Jefferson County sheriff’s officials announced Tuesday.

Deputies arrived to find the 22-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds. Midfield Fire and Rescue transported him to UAB Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Sheriff’s spokesman Henry Irby said no arrests have been made.
