21-year-old woman killed in Anniston shooting; suspect charged
A suspect has been charged in the New Year’s Day shooting death of a woman in Anniston.
Jarvis Donquisse Swink, 35, is charged with murder in the Monday slaying of 21-year-old Kasmine L. McAfee.
Anniston police responded at 4:30 p.m. to the 2700 block of Simpson Street on a report of a person shot.
Lt. Tim Suits said the shooting followed a verbal argument between Swink and McAfee after McAfee walked onto her property. The two did not know each other.
McAfee was taken to Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center where she later died.
Investigators identified Swink as the suspect. He was taken into custody Thursday and booked into the Calhoun County Jail where he is being held without bond.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call detectives at 256-240-4000.
