21-year-old identified as man fatally shot behind vacant Birmingham house
A 21-year-old has been identified as the young man found shot to death behind a vacant house in Birmingham’s Ensley community on Saturday.
Police on Sunday night identified the victim as Tre’Von Nyheim Douglas. He lived in Birmingham.

The shooting happened just before 4:30 p.m. Saturday in the 1400 block of 33rd Street.
Neighbors reported hearing a loud “bang” and found the victim on the ground in the back yard of the house. They then called 911, said Sgt. LaQuitta Wade.
Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service pronounced Douglas dead on the scene.
A possible motive has not been disclosed and no arrests have been announced.
Douglas is the city’s 16th homicide of 2025. In all of Jefferson County, there have been 24 slayings, including the 16 in Birmingham.
His killing came less than 48 hours after a man and woman were fatally shot while in a vehicle on the city’s east side.
