2025 NFL Combine: How Auburn football missed out on former Kansas DB Cobee Bryant

Former Kansas cornerback Cobee Bryant totaled 13 interceptions and 35 pass deflections in his four years with the Jayhawks.

The Evergreen Alabama native sits as possible day two selection and can expect meaningful snaps as a rookie if drafted in the right scheme.

“You got to know how to react to the ball,” Bryant said Thursday at the NFL Combine. “That’s how I got a lot of my interceptions in my career.”

The three-time First-Team All-Big 12 member started his football journey as a three-star high school recruit out Hillcrest-Evergreen.

Bryant helped lead the Jaguars to the 2017 class 3A state championship and ranked as the No. 28 recruit in the state of Alabama by Rivals.

“Small town man. It’s really like 2,000 people in my area,” Bryant said. “I played wide receiver in high school. So, coming to college I started at receiver at Kansas but was recruited on both sides.”

“I think that’s why it’s so easy to catch interceptions because I already know what receivers do,” Bryant added.

Bryant chose Kansas over offers from Tennessee, Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Kentucky, Ole Miss and Auburn.

During his recruitment, Bryant was close to choosing the Tigers along with his cousin and high school teammate Cam Riley.

“I did not want to stay in Alabama. Auburn is like an hour away from me,” Bryant said. “My cousin was there before he transferred to Florida State. I did not want to play with him anymore after all those years playing together.”

Despite his 5-foot-11, 175-pound stature, Bryant is well-rounded adding 128 total tackles, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries to his career stats.

With a 91.3 run defense grade according to Pro Football Focus, Bryant wants to prove to scouts in Indianapolis that he can also be one of the best coverage defenders in this draft.

“The film talks for itself. A lot of people say I’m too small to tackle people, but the film shows I can,” Bryant said. “I want to show the world I’m one of the best in the country and that’s my mindset while I’m here.”
