For most programs, a good season includes winning nine games and qualifying for a New Year’s Eve bowl game.

But for Alabama, the sky appears to be falling after Kalen DeBoer’s subpar opening act.

Alabama went 9-4, including a stunning loss to Michigan in the ReliaQuest Bowl in Tampa, which cost the Crimson Tide their 17th straight double-digit win season.

With Jalen Milroe off to the NFL and dates with Florida State, Wisconsin, Georgia, LSU, and Oklahoma — plus the annual Iron Bowl — Alabama will be one of the most heavily scrutinized teams in college football this season.

Here are some 2025 Alabama football futures bets to consider and Crimson Tide wagers for fans.

Alabama winning the national championship may be considered a long shot based on the odds, but it still has the sixth-shortest odds to win it all.

The Crimson Tide have the fourth-shortest odds to win the SEC at bet365 behind Texas, Georgia and Tennessee. Winning the SEC can be more tricky than the national championship, especially in the 12-team College Football Playoff era.

The Crimson Tide haven’t won the national title since the abridged 2020 season and haven’t played for the championship since their loss to Georgia in 2021 in Indy.

Still, the Crimson Tide’s national-title odds are the sixth-shortest and the third-shortest of any SEC team, behind Georgia and Texas.

If you’re wagering in certain states at bet365, Alabama winning the title may be boosted to +1600. But otherwise, its odds are about +1400 or +1500.

Some sportsbooks aren’t yet taking odds on a team to win its conference, but the Crimson Tide again have the third-shortest odds to win the SEC Championship Game.

The Crimson Tide blew their chance to play in the conference championship game in Atlanta by losing three road games — including shocking defeats at Vanderbilt and Oklahoma last season.

Alabama’s schedule is expected to be tougher in 2025 since it will have to go to Athens to face Georgia after it edged out the rival ‘Dawgs in Week 5 in 2024.

But the Tide should very much be in the mix for the SEC crown this season.

Vegas isn’t fond of the Tide’s chances to hit double-digit wins during the regular season. Alabama would need to win 10 of its 12 games for this futures bet to hit, and it will go to Tallahassee for a date against FSU and host Wisconsin.

Still, if you game out the Crimson Tide’s season, the Over makes sense, especially with the plus-money odds. Over the past decade, only three teams have qualified for the SEC Championship Game with fewer than 10 wins — including the 2020 season, where runner-up Florida only played 12 games entirely against SEC opposition due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Plus, Alabama won’t get to the SEC Championship Game if it doesn’t win 10 games since the league ditched the East vs West format in favor of the top two teams. It would take an act of God for the second team in the SEC to finish with fewer than 10 regular-season wins.

That doesn’t mean Bama will win 10 games, nor does it mean it will make the SEC Championship Game. The point is, if you think the Tide will play for the conference championship, wagering Over 9.5 wins is a must.
