2023 turned out to be a record year for new housing in Huntsville.

According to the city of Huntsville’s 2023 Development Review, 4,693 residential units were granted certificates of occupancy, the most since records have been kept, James Vandiver of the city’s planning department told the Planning Commission on Tuesday.
