20-year-old woman found slain in Montgomery died from gunshot wound: Police

A 20-year-old Montgomery woman found dead Monday morning died from a gunshot wound, police said Friday.

Montgomery police are conducting a homicide investigation in the death of 20-year-old Alexia Shepherd, who was found dead Monday in the 5100 block of Carmichael Road, said Maj. Saba Coleman.

Shepherd was pronounced dead Monday and her body was taken to the Alabama Department of Forensic Science for an autopsy, which revealed she died from a gunshot wound.

Police have not announced any arrests in the case.
