A young man was a killed and a female injured in a two-vehicle crash in Fultondale.

The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified the fatality victim as Solomon Stipati. He was 20 and lived in Fultondale.

The wreck happened at 8:12 p.m. Thursday in the 900 block of Ellard Road.

Both vehicles were heading in opposite directions when they collided. Stipati’s vehicle left the roadway and came to a rest at the woods line.

Stipati was pronounced dead on the scene at 8:20 p.m.

The female driver of the other vehicle was taken to the hospital with injuries that weren’t life-threatening.

Fultondale police and the Jefferson County sheriff’s office worked the crash scene.
