Two people were killed in a fiery crash in Autauga County.

Alabama State Troopers identified the victims as Carolyn C. Cason, 78, of Prattville, and Alyssa M. Taylor, 30, of Selma.

The wreck happened at 7:41 p.m. Thursday on Alabama 14, about nine miles west of Prattville.

ALEA Lt. Jeremy Burkett said Cason was driving a Lincoln Aviator that collided head-on with a Ford Fusion driven by Taylor.

After the initial collision, both vehicles left the road and became engulfed in flames, Burkett said.

Both women were pronounced dead on the scene.

The crash remains under investigation by troopers.
