2 women killed, 5-year-old girl injured in predawn Sylacauga crash
An early-morning crash in Sylacauga left two women dead, and a child injured.
Police responded at 5:30 a.m. Friday to a report of a single-vehicle wreck on Alabama 21 near the intersection of Rocky Ridge Road, said police Chief Kelley Johnson.
Officers arrived and found two women had been ejected from the vehicle. Both were pronounced dead on the scene.
Johnson identified the fatality victims as Raven Cara Simone Stone, 26, and Zarria Renee Morris, 19. Both women lived in Sylacauga.
Stone’s 5-year-old daughter was taken by ambulance to Children’s of Alabama in Birmingham. The extent of the child’s injuries wasn’t immediately known.
“Sylacauga Police Department wants to extend its deepest sympathies to the families of Ms. Morris and Ms. Stone,’’ Johnson said.
