2 teens killed in Tuscaloosa car crash with semi-truck

Two teenagers died early Saturday in a crash with a semi-truck, according to Tuscaloosa police.

The incident occurred about 1:50 a.m. and involved a 2022 Tesla and a semi-truck at Skyland Boulevard East and Interstate 20/59, police said. The Tesla was pinned underneath the truck’s trailer and the vehicle’s four occupants were trapped, police said.

The driver, a 17-year-old female from Tuscaloosa, and the front-seat passenger, an 18-year-old male from Uniontown, were pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.

An 18-year-old female from Montgomery was transported to UAB Hospital with serious injuries, police said, and a 17-year-old female from Marion was transported to DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa with minor injuries. She was listed in good condition Saturday morning, police said.

The incident remains under investigation.
