An early-morning crash in eastern Alabama left two teens dead, and another seriously injured.

Valley police officers were dispatched at 4:21 a.m. Friday to Interstate 85 northbound near the 73-mile marker.

Police Chief Mike Reynolds said officers arrived to find a single-vehicle crash.

The driver and a passenger, both 19 and from Lanett, were pronounced dead on the scene. Another passenger had been ejected and was found in the median.

He was taken to Piedmont Hospital in Columbus. His condition wasn’t immediately available, but he is also 19 and from Lanett.

Reynolds said the wreck is still under investigation by the Valley Police Department and the Chambers County Coroner’s office.
