2 teens charged in connection with Mobile County slaying

A teenager was charged with murder and an 18-year-old suspect was arrested in connection with the death of an 18-year-old man last week in Mobile County, authorities said.

The 17-year-old suspect, whose name was not publicly released, was charged with murder and first-degree robbery in the death of 18-year-old Evangelo Johnson, according to the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office.

Johnson’s body was found March 26 near Chickasaw High School in Chickasaw.

The sheriff’s office earlier told AL.com that residents in the area told investigators they heard multiple gunshots around 9:30 p.m. March 25, but no one alerted law enforcement.

The second suspect, 18-year-old Joseph Antonio Robinson, was charged with second-degree receiving stolen property, the sheriff’s office said.

Additional charges may be forthcoming against Robinson, the office said.
