2 teens charged, 1 of them shot, in Mobile shooting that killed 2 men, injured 2 others

Two teens are facing charges in a Mobile shooting that left two people dead and several others injured.

Santoine Johnson, 19, was arrested Wednesday on two counts of murder, two counts of attempted murder, two counts of shooting into an occupied dwelling and four counts of robbery, said Cpl. Katrina Frazier.

Michael Stone, also 19, is facing the same charges. He was wounded in the shooting — possibly in self-defense — and remains hospitalized, Frazier said.

Those killed were Michael Lane and Marvin Richardson Jr. Both were 40 years old.

Mobile police officers responded to the 600 block of Euclid Avenue around 1:08 p.m. Friday on a report of a shooting. Police found four men with gunshot wounds at the scene.

Stone, suffering from a gunshot wound, arrived at the hospital in a private vehicle, Frazier said.

Lane and Richardson later died at the hospital.

The two surviving victims, ages 42 and 47, have since been treated and released from the hospital.

Authorities said the victims were standing in the back of a home when a group of men in an unknown vehicle began firing at them, said Frazier. The motive appears to be robbery.

The suspects fled the scene before officers arrived.

Frazier said at least one of the victims possibly shot Stone in self-defense.

Once Stone is released from the hospital, he will be taken to jail.
