2 suspects, including teen, charged in Mobile park shooting
Two suspects, including a 16-year-old boy were arrested on assault charges in connection with a shooting earlier this month at Mobile’s Rickarby Park that injured two people, including one critically, police said Tuesday.
Lecarey Lett, 28, was arrested Monday and charged with first-degree assault in the March 3 shooting, said Cpl. Katrina Frazier.
The teenage suspect was taken into custody Tuesday and charged with first-degree assault.
Both suspects were taken to Mobile County Metro Jail.
Mobile officers responded to the park around 5:35 p.m. March 3 and found two male subjects suffering from gunshot wounds, police said at the time.
One was transported to a local hospital with what was described as a “critical injury,” while the other was taken to the hospital by personal vehicle for a non-life-threatening injury.
The critical victim is now in stable condition but remains in the hospital, Frazier said Tuesday.
