Two people were shot Monday afternoon inside a room at the Residence Inn on Birmingham’s Southside.

The shooting happened about 2:15 p.m. at the hotel on 20th Street South.

The victims were driven in an SUV to UAB Hospital’s emergency room a couple of blocks away.

Police radio communications indicated one of the victims was shot in the face and the other in the leg. The victim shot in the face has life-threatening injuries.

No arrests have been announced.
