Mobile police are investigating after two people were struck by gunfire during a shootout Monday night.

According to the Mobile Police Department, officers responded to a shooting in a parking lot near 750 Government Street at about 10:40 p.m.

After arriving two men were found with gunshot wounds. Both were transported to the hospital but one sustained life-threatened injuries, police said.

The department said that it determined the men were shot after two groups were shooting at each other.

The incident is still under investigation.
