An investigation is underway after two people were shot early Thursday in Birmingham.

The shooting happened just before 1:30 a.m. in the 2300 block of Bessemer Road.

The victims – both males – were taken by private vehicles to UAB Hospital in Birmingham.

Sgt. LaQuitta Wade said the victims are in stable condition.

Authorities are still trying piece together details surrounding the shooting. No arrests have been announced.
