2 more AHSAA football teams will forfeit games for transfer violations
Two more high school football teams in the state of Alabama will have to forfeit a win for violation of the Alabama High School Athletic Association’s transfer rule.
The AHSAA announced early Saturday morning that Vigor and Pell City would forfeit one win each.
It’s the second time in a little over a week that a team has been penalized for violating the transfer rule. Last week, the AHSAA announced Coosa Christian would forfeit four victories. The Conquerors’ administration has said they will appeal.
Pell City will forfeit the only win of Rush Propst’s first season at the school — a 24-16 Class 6A, Region 6 victory over Center Point on Sept. 15. The loss will drop the Panthers’ record to 0-6 overall, 0-3 in the region. Pell City lost at Oxford 28-25 on Friday night.
Vigor, ranked No. 7 in last week’s Alabama Sports Writers Association Class 5A rankings, will forfeit its 31-9 win over UMS-Wright on Sept. 22. The Wolves also lost on the field 21-13 to Faith Academy on Friday night. Those two Region 1 losses will leave Vigor at 4-2, 3-2 in region play.
