2 men and 17-year-old girl shot in Center Point area expected to survive

Three people – including a teenage girl – are expected to recover following a shooting Sunday evening in the Center Point area.

Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies were dispatched just after 7 p.m. to a report of shots fired in the 2400 block of Fifth Street N.W.

They arrived to find two men, both 24, and a 17-year-old girl wounded.

The victims were taken by Center Point Fire and Rescue to UAB Hospital. Sheriff’s spokesman Henry Irby said their injuries are not life-threatening.

No arrests have been made.
