2 killed in separate Sunday crashes in Montgomery

Two people were killed Sunday in separate Montgomery traffic crashes.

Police identified the fatality victims as Ellis Smith, 36, and Dollie Hooks, 82. Both lived in Montgomery.

The first wreck happened at 12:16 a.m. on Atlanta Highway at W. Vanderbilt Loop. Capt. Jarrett Williams said no other vehicles were involved.

Smith, the driver, was pronounced dead on the scene.

Hooks was killed in a two-vehicle collision at 5:12 p.m. on Perry Hill Road at Interstate Park Drive.

Williams said Hooks was a passenger in a Toyota Corolla. She was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead a short time later.

Investigations into both crashes are ongoing.
