2 killed, 2 injured in head-on wreck on Hooverâs John Hawkins Parkway
A head-on crash in Hoover this morning left two people dead.
Police received a 911 call at 6:19 a.m. Tuesday reporting a two-vehicle crash with injuries on John Hawkins Parkway, near Hunter Street Baptist Church.
Capt. Keith Czeskleba said a Lexus RS 350 was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of John Hawkins Parkway when it struck a Nissan Rouge head on.
A man and woman inside the Nissan Rogue were pronounced dead on the scene. Their names are being withheld pending notification of family.
The driver of the Lexus was taken to UAB Hospital. A passenger from the Lexus was taken to Children’s of Alabama. The extent of their injuries wasn’t immediately available, Czeskleba said.
John Hawkins Parkway is shut down while the investigation is ongoing.
