2 jailed after packages with knife, pepper spray, cell phones found inside Holman prison fence
Two men were taken into custody outside an Alabama prison after authorities found 13 contraband packages inside a perimeter fence.
The Alabama Department of Corrections on Tuesday announced the arrests of Matthew Cameron Jones, 38, of Childersburg, and Richard Facison, 19, of Mobile.
Prison tracking dogs located the two suspects on state property near Holman Correctional Facility on Monday.
Charging documents state the contraband packages contained a “free world knife,” pepper spray and 39 cell phones.
Both men are charged with promoting prison contraband, prohibited activities (cell phone), and criminal trespassing. Jones was also charged with possession of marijuana for personal use.
Both were taken to the Escambia County Jail.
