Two state prison inmates died over the weekend at William Donaldson Correctional Facility in western Jefferson County.

The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified one of the men as Trenton Jamario White. The second inmate’s name is being withheld pending notification of his family.

White, 30, was found by correctional officers unresponsive in his cell at 5:34 a.m. Saturday. He was pronounced dead at 5:48 a.m.

White was serving a 40-year sentence from 2012 Calhoun County convictions of robbery, discharging a gun into an occupied building or vehicle, attempted murder and assault.

The second inmate was a 61-year-old man serving a life sentence for a 1989 murder conviction out of Etowah County.

He was found unresponsive in his cell by another inmate at 8:42 p.m. Sunday and pronounced dead minutes later.

His autopsy is set to take place on Monday.
