2 injured in Saturday night shooting at Cherokee County home

Two people were shot Saturday night at a residence in Cherokee County, in northeast Alabama.

According to a post from the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded at about 9:30 p.m. to reports of a shooting at a residence on County Road 101.

When they arrived on the scene they found two people who had been shot. Both victims were transported to hospitals, according to the report.

Sheriff’s deputies and investigators from the Jacksonville State University Center for Applied Forensics were investigating the scene.

Officials did not release any further information about the victims or the nature of the shooting, beyond announcing that there was no threat to the community following the events of Saturday night.
