2 injured by gunfire in Piggly Wiggly parking lot in Mobile
Two people went to the hospital for treatment of gunshot wounds after a shooting in the parking lot of a Piggly Wiggly supermarket in Mobile on Thursday afternoon.
Mobile police said officers were called to the store, located on St. Stephens Road, shortly before 3 p.m. on a report of shots fired.
By the time officers arrived, however, all of the people reportedly involved had fled the scene.
But police were notified by hospital personnel of two people suffering gunshot wounds. One man was taken to University Hospital by personal vehicle. The other, a male juvenile, was transported to the hospital via a separate personal vehicle.
The adult was suffering from what police described as a non-life-threatening injury. The extent of the juveniles injuries were not disclosed.
No other details were immediately available.
