2 indicted on capital murder in killings of 2 women at Hoover apartment

Two men have been indicted in the 2022 shooting deaths of two women inside a Hoover apartment.

A Jefferson County grand jury issued the indictments against An’ton Je’horam Lewis, 21, and Daxton Elliot Keith, 22, on July 2. The indictments were made public Wednesday.

Both are charged with capital murder of two or more people in the Oct. 1, 2022, slayings of Lauren Anne White, 39, and Blakely Meachelle Nelson, 24.

Lewis and Keith were initially charged and arrested last year.

White and Nelson were found dead at The Park at Hoover. It was just before 8 a.m. that Saturday that Hoover 911 received a call from a person who reported finding two people possibly dead inside an apartment.

Officers arrived and found the unresponsive women. White and Nelson, both of whom lived at the complex, were pronounced dead on the scene at 8:11 a.m.

Authorities have said the suspects were acquaintances of the victims.

Trial dates have not yet been announced.
