2 from Michigan killed in one-vehicle Montgomery County crash

A single-vehicle crash Tuesday morning in Montgomery County resulted in two fatalities.

Cpl. Reginal King of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said the incident happened at about 11:20 a.m. Tuesday on Interstate 65, near the 162 mile marker, about three miles south of Montgomery.

A 2003 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Ester I. Boutwell, 61, of Manistee, Mich., left the roadway and overturned. Boutwell and a passenger in the Chevrolet, Kimberly Barrentine, 31, of Hessel, Mich., were both not using seat belts at the time of the crash, King said.

Boutwell and Barentine were pronounced dead at the scene.

Troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
