Two people were killed in a head-on crash Monday night in Macon County.

Alabama State Troopers on Tuesday identified the fatality victims as Larry R. Johnson, 56, of Hurtsboro, and Santoyas D. Jackson, 33, of Columbus, Ga.

The wreck happened at 7:28 p.m. on U.S. 80, about 12 miles south of Auburn, said Trooper Sgt. Jeremy Burkett.

Authorities said Johnson was driving a 2005 GMC Sierra pickup truck that collided head-on with the 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA driven by Jackson.

Both were pronounced dead on the scene.

The investigation is ongoing by troopers.
