Two Gadsden men were killed in a head-on crash with each other late Monday in Calhoun County.

Alabama State Troopers Tuesday identified the fatality victims as Clarence Williams, 58, and Phillip S. Palka, 46.

The wreck happened at 11:30 p.m. on U.S. 431 near Becky Turner Road. That location is about two miles north of Alexandria.

Senior Trooper Brandon Bailey said Williams was driving a Chevrolet Silverado that collided with Palka’s Dodge Ram.

After the initial impact, both vehicles left the roadway and the Dodge overturned.

Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
