2 changes to No. 1 teams in ASWA high school basketball rankings

There are two changes to No. 1 teams in this week’s ASWA high school basketball rankings, resuming today after the holiday break.

Class 6A Huffman and Class 1A Spring Garden, both in boys rankings, are the only changes to No. 1 teams.

In other boys rankings, Class 7A Hoover, Class 5A Ramsay, Class 4A Fairfield, Class 3A Midfield, Class 2A Section and AISA Valiant Cross remain No. 1.

Both Hoover (20-0) and Spring Garden (17-0) are still unbeaten among No. 1 boys teams while AISA No. 2 Hooper (16-0) is the only other undefeated ranked team.

The top three Class 7A boys teams are also among the latest MaxPreps Top 100 national rankings. Hoover is No. 8 — the Bucs are also No. 19 in the SI Top 25 —while ASWA third-ranked Huntsville is No. 38 and ASWA second-ranked Central-Phenix City is No. 63.
