2 Birmingham architectural firms announce merger
Two Birmingham-based architectural firms today announced their merger.
Poole & Co. and Line Scale Form are joining forces, effective immediately, to expand Poole’s reach into the design of multifamily and higher education projects, the company said in an announcement.
The deal builds a firm with 24 employees. Line Scale Form’s owner Bruce Herrington will assume a role as senior project manager.
The company plans to move to a larger office space.
Poole & Co. has handled several high-profile projects, such as a $55 million expansion of Children’s of Alabama and a $32.5 million mixed-use development in West Homewood. Line Scale Form has an impressive portfolio of designs, including the UAB Technology Innovation Center, the Auburn University Student Housing Initiative, and Tuggle Elementary.
“Bruce Herrington is a respected leader in the areas of multifamily and higher education. We are elated to add him to our team. His team’s depth of experience complements our current competencies, enabling us to tackle projects of greater scale and complexity,” John Poole, founder of Poole & Company, said.
Bruce Herrington said the merger “allows Poole & Company to expand its ability to create spaces that inspire, captivate, and respond to our clients’ evolving needs.”
“To us, the process is as important as the end product,” Kyle D’Agostino, principal and owner of Poole & Company, said. “We’ve designed an efficient workflow allowing us to focus our energy on what we do best: creative thinking and problem-solving. Our work has a long-term impact on a community, and we’re committed to ensuring the designs we create enhance those communities.”
