2 Alabamians suspended from Tennessee park after brawl, arrests at softball game
Two Alabama residents were arrested earlier this month following an altercation at a softball game at Winchester City Park in Franklin County, Tennessee.
Zachary Alexander Simmons of New Market was charged with public intoxication and disorderly conduct while Kristina Ann Belken of Hazel Green was accused of assault, according to reports by the Herald Chronicle.
Reports also state there was some concerns of a possible active shooter situation, however, no firearms were discovered once law enforcement arrived.
The altercation at the game on May 6 led to a total of nine suspensions from the city park and Tennessee World Sports League events. Simmons was given a two-year suspension while Belken received one-year ban.
WCDT Radio of Winchester reported that these individuals will also face bans from the Tennessee Independent Sports Association and its national office.
“People acting badly at softball games and other sporting events need to know we all want bad behavior to go away and stay away from our events,” Steven Laverne of Tennessee ISA tells WCDT Radio. “While someone is suspended they cannot even come to parks we have rented for tournaments. We will be contacting those who are suspended, but it is in effect immediately for the same amount of time listed previously.”
