2 Alabamians killed, 2 hurt in head-on collision in Greene County
Two Alabama women were killed and two other people were injured in a head-on collision early Friday morning in Greene County, authorities said.
The crash occurred around 3 a.m. Friday on Highway 11 near the 51-mile marker when a 2016 Hyundai Accent driven by 58-year-old Huntsville resident Frances McCreary collided head-on with a 2002 Chevrolet S10, said Cpl. Reginal King with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
McCreary and one of the passengers in her vehicle, 63-year-old Newbern resident Joetta Lewis, were pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck, about six miles north of Eutaw, King said.
Another passenger in the Accent and the driver of the S10 were taken to local hospitals with injuries.
Further information was unavailable as state troopers continued to investigate the collision.
