Investigators in Escambia County, Fla., are searching for a 19-year-old Pensacola resident who is wanted for negligent manslaughter in the shooting death of a 16-year-old.

The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to a residence on Wishbone Road Friday on a report of shots fired. When they arrived, they found the 16-year-old male, dead from an apparent gunshot wound.

Preliminary investigation determined a large gathering had taken place that night, during which 19-year-old Ethan O’Brien was showing off a firearm. The firearm discharged, striking the minor.

O’Brien fled the scene before deputies arrived.
