19-year-old killed in weekend shooting in Montgomery
A 19-year-old was shot to death over the weekend in Montgomery, one of three homicides in the city in four days.
Police on Monday identified the victim as Josiah Slocum. He lived in Montgomery.
Police and fire medics were dispatched to the hospital at 2:50 a.m. Saturday on a report of a gunshot victim. When they arrived, they learned the victim had been pronounced dead.
Sgt. Tina McGriff said investigators determined the shooting happened in the area of Davis Drive. No additional details have been released.
On Thursday, 18-year-old Jaydon Lewis was also killed in a Montgomery shooting.
A father and son are charged in the fatal shooting of a 36-year-old man that happened in Montgomery in Sunday’s predawn hours.
As of Monday, there have been 23 homicides in the city.
