A Hayden man was killed in early-morning crash in Blount County.

The wreck happened at 12:53 a.m. Wednesday on Blount County 45 near Orchard Circle, according to Senior Alabama State Trooper Brandon Bailey. That location is about four miles west of Nectar.

Authorities said 19-year-old Dylan C. Chappell was driving a Cadillac STS when the vehicle left the road, struck a tree and overturned.

Bailey said Chappell was not using a seat belt and was pronounced dead on the scene.
