An east Alabama 19-year-old is behind bars after authorities investigated a report of a gun on a high school campus and made threats against police.

Piedmont Police Chief Nathan Johnson on Saturday announced the arrest of Kenneth Cole Candelario. The teen is charged with making a terrorist threat.

Officers responded at 12:41 p.m. Thursday to Piedmont High School after a Snapchat picture and video surfaced of a male with a gun on campus making threats toward police with that weapon.

The school went on lockdown and the campus was cleared by police to ensure the male was not on the campus.

Investigators identified Candelario as the suspect, Johnson said. He was quickly taken into custody.

Candelario was booked into the Calhoun County Jail on $10,000 bond. His court date is set for April 17.
