The first week of June turned out to be a light one for new construction in the Huntsville area.

Only 84 permits totaling $18 million were issued in Madison, Limestone and Morgan counties during the week.

Madison County issued 45 of the permits totaling $10.3 million. Huntsville issued 23 totaling $3.1 million, followed by Athens with 10 totaling $2.3 million, Decatur with four totaling $1.7 million and Madison with two totaling more than $502,000.
