A central Alabama teen was killed Friday in single-vehicle crash in Elmore County.

The wreck happened at 11:13 a.m. on Harrogate Springs Road, about one mile east of Wetumpka, said Alabama State Trooper Sgt. Jeremy Burkett.

Authorities said a 17-year-old was driving a Chevrolet Avalanche that left the road and overturned. The teen, who was not using a seat belt, was pronounced dead on the scene.

Troopers do not release the identities of juvenile fatality victims.
