Then, an Albertville teen died from injuries following a two-vehicle crash at about 5:58 p.m. Monday on Pleasant Hill Road near Patterson Drive, approximately five miles south of Guntersville.
A 17-year-old was a passenger on a 2005 Honda CBR600 motorcycle when it left the roadway and struck a ditch. As a result of the impact, the operator of the Honda, Dakota S. Hammond, 20, of Albertville, and the teen were both thrown from the Honda.
After the initial impact, the Honda then struck a 1999 Buick Century, driven by Latisha R. Puckett, 35, of Albertville.
The juvenile was airlifted to a nearby hospital for treatment and died there. Hammond was injured and transported to Huntsville Hospital for treatment. Puckett, who was not using a seat belt at the time of crash, was also injured and transported to Marshall Medical Center North for treatment.
