16-year-old boy charged for ‘reckless’ shooting of girl, 17, at a party in south Alabama
A 16-year-old boy was arrested Friday for a weekend shooting in south Alabama that left another teen hospitalized.
According to the Fairhope Police Department, the teenage boy is being charged with second-degree assault in the shooting that has been deemed unintentional.
However, the department says the teen’s “reckless” behavior caused in a 17-year-old girl to be shot in the neck.
The incident occurred May 24 during an underage party in Fairhope on the 200 block of Rock Creek Parkway.
Fairhope police found the teenage girl with a gunshot wound to the neck after responding to reports of gunfire.
The teenage girl is currently in stable condition, the department said.
