A 13-year-old Mobile boy was shot and killed Wednesday night, according to police.

Mobile police responded to a report of a shooting on Mack Street about 11:42 p.m. Wednesday.

At the scene, they found the 13-year-old suffering from an apparent gunshot wound in a front yard. He died at a local hospital.

“This is an active homicide investigation, and no further details will be disclosed at this time to maintain the integrity of the investigation,” police said.
