12 early betting lines released for 2024 games; Alabama underdog to two SEC opponents
Nick Saban is retired, and Kalen DeBoer is now leading the Alabama Crimson Tide.
While those in Tuscaloosa are focused on filling out the coaching staff and watching the transfer portal movements of players, FanDuel has posted early betting lines on 12 marquee games in 2024.
Of the two games Alabama is involved in, the Crimson Tide is an underdog in both.
FanDuel has installed Georgia a 3-point road favorite over the Tide in Tuscaloosa on Sept. 28. In addition, DeBoer’s team is also a 1.5-point underdog to LSU in Baton Rouge on Nov. 9.
Playing the role of underdog is a new one for Alabama, but one that started in 2023. The Tide was an underdog to Georgia in the SEC Championship Game and Michigan in the CFP’s Rose Bowl. It marked on the second time the Tide was an underdog in back-to-back games since Saban had been the coach.
No doubt, Saban’s retirement, a new coaching regime as well as player defections through the portal are all questions that need answers this upcoming season.
