10 former Alabama high school stars set for NFL Scouting Combine

The 2025 NFL Scouting Combine invitation list included 10 players from Alabama high schools.

The NFL released on Thursday the list of 329 college players who have been invited to participate in the annual event, which will be held from Feb. 24 through March 3 in Indianapolis.

The combine will gather the top prospects for the 2025 NFL Draft to be checked by medical staff, interviewed by team decision-makers and put through drills to gauge their football skills and tests to measure their athleticism by coaches and scouts.

The former Alabama high school standouts invited to this year’s combine include:

  • Kansas cornerback Cobee Bryant, Hillcrest High School in Evergreen
  • Florida linebacker Shemar James, Faith Academy in Mobile
  • Oregon wide receiver Tez Johnson (Troy), Pinson Valley High School
  • Ohio State running back Quinshon Judkins, Pike Road High School
  • Notre Dame quarterback Riley Leonard, Fairhope High School
  • Alabama defensive back Malachi Moore, Hewitt-Trussville High School
  • Tulane safety Caleb Ransaw (Troy), Sparkman High School in Harvest
  • Alabama linebacker Que Robinson, Jackson-Olin High School in Birmingham
  • Memphis wide receiver Roc Taylor, Oxford High School
  • Jacksonville State guard Clay Webb, Oxford High School

Moore, Robinson and Webb are the among the 15 players who have been invited to the NFL Scouting Combine from Alabama colleges. Webb joins offensive tackle Carson Vinson of Alabama A&M as the only players in that group that did not play for the state’s SEC schools — Alabama and Auburn.

The college players from Alabama who didn’t play high school football in the state who have been invited to the combine include:

  • Auburn linebacker Eugene Asante
  • Alabama guard Tyler Booker
  • Alabama punter James Burnip
  • Alabama linebacker Jihaad Campbell
  • Alabama tight end CJ Dippre
  • Auburn running back Jarquez Hunter
  • Auburn wide receiver KeAndre Lambert-Smith
  • Auburn linebacker Jalen McLeod
  • Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe
  • Alabama tight end Robbie Ouzts
  • Alabama defensive tackle Tim Smith
  • Alabama A&M offensive tackle Carson Vinson

The combine invitations also include eight players who started their careers at an Alabama college but finished at another school:

  • Ole Miss defensive back Trey Amos (Alabama)
  • Texas wide receiver Isaiah Bond (Alabama)
  • Louisville wide receiver Ja’Corey Brooks (Alabama)
  • Oregon wide receiver Traeshon Holden (Alabama)
  • UCF wide receiver Kobe Hudson (Auburn)
  • Ohio State center Seth McLaughlin (Alabama)
  • UCF cornerback Mac McWilliams (UAB)
  • Ole Miss DT JJ Pegues (Auburn)

Another player of state interest is Notre Dame defensive lineman Howard Cross III. Cross’ father, Howard Cross Jr., starred at New Hope High School and played at Alabama before joining the New York Giants in the sixth round of the 1989 NFL Draft. In his 13 seasons with New York, Cross played in 207 regular-season games, which are the most for a non-specialist from Alabama.

The players will be on the field at Lucas Oil Stadium from Feb. 27 through March 1. The defensive linemen and linebackers will be on the turf on Feb. 27, the defensive backs and tight ends will work out on Feb. 28, quarterbacks, wide receivers and running backs taken their turn on March 1 and the offensive linemen concluded the combine on March 2.
