Huntsville police say one person is in custody after a shooting this afternoon left one person seriously wounded.

According to police, officers responded to a shooting call around 3:50 p.m. in the area of Pulaski Pike and Beasley Avenue.

A Madison County deputy, who was in the area when the shooting happened, notified Huntsville police.

The victim, police said, has serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
