One man was killed Thursday morning in Muscle Shoals in a single-vehicle crash.

Muscle Shoals police said the incident happened at about 6:40 a.m., in the 3400 block of East Sixth Street.

William Autry Dale Jr. was pronounced dead at the scene by Colbert County Deputy Coroner Matt Moore.

Police said a preliminary investigation indicates a Nissan Maxima was traveling west on Sixth Street when it swerved off the roadway and struck an embankment.

Muscle Shoals Police Department and Muscle Shoals Fire Department responded to the crash.

“The Muscle Shoals Police Department sends its condolences to the Dale family,” a statement from police said.
