A homicide investigation is underway following a deadly shooting Sunday night in Montgomery.

Montgomery police responded to a local hospital around 6:36 p.m. Sunday on a report of a person shot, said Sgt. Tina McGriff.

The investigation later determined the shooting occurred in the 500 block of Eastdale Road.

Caron Giles, 24, of Montgomery, sustained life-threatening injuries from a gunshot and was later pronounced dead, McGriff said..
