An early-morning crash in Tuscaloosa County left one man dead.

The wreck happened at 1:40 a.m. Wednesday on Upper Columbus Road near Sam Sutton Road, about two miles north of Northport.

Senior Trooper Brandon Bailey said 25-year-old David J. Lancaster was driving a 2016 Ford F-250 that left the road, struck a ditch and overturned.

Lancaster, Bailey said, was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the truck. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

The investigation is ongoing by Alabama State Troopers.
