1 killed, 2 seriously injured in Moody crash between truck, car

A 71-year-old man was killed and two other victims suffered serious injuries in a collision between a truck and a car Monday night in Moody, police said.

Police and medics responded to the wreck about 7 p.m. Monday at Highway 411 and James Taylor Road, said Moody Police Chief Reece Smith.

First responders discovered that all three victims were seriously injured; two of the victims were transported in a medical helicopter to the hospital, Reece said.

Stephen Day, 71, of Moody, died at the hospital, the chief said.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the Day family and hope that the injured have a speedy recovery,” Smith said.

One of the vehicles was traveling northbound and the other was traveling southbound when they collided.

Police believe the incident was an accident.
